The ingredients needed to prepare Banoffee Pie:
- Get 450 grams digestive biscuits
- You need 225 grams butter
- Provide 2 tins condensed milk
- Prepare 500 ml double cream
- Take 2 large ripe Bananas
- Take 50 grams chocolate (to grate)
- You need 50 grams Optional: pecan nuts or prefered nuts.
Instructions to make Banoffee Pie:
- Crush the biscuits and if using the nuts aswell.
- Melt the butter on 30 second intervals in the microwave.
- Mix melted butter and biscuits together and then spread evenly into a tin. Chill in fridge until needed.
- Boil the tins of condensed milk for 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Tins must be submerged in water at all times. Add more kettle boiled water to the saucepan when needed.
- When the toffee is cooled spread evenly over the biscuit base.
- Slice the bananas and add to the toffee.
- Next whip the cream using an electric mixer. When its done spread over the bananas.
- Grate chocolate and sprinkle over the cream. Chill in fridge until needed or serve immediately.
