The ingredients needed to make Lentil Rice:
- Provide 2 1/2 cup Basmati Rice
- Prepare 3 Cardamoms
- Prepare 2 2 inch long cinnamon sticks
- Provide 1 tbsp ground garlic

- Prepare 1/2 tsp Tumeric powder
- Get 1 tbsp Ghee
- You need 1/2 cup Red Lentil (Daal Masoor)

Steps to make Lentil Rice:
- Wash rice and lentils and set aside in water for 15 minutes
- Slice onion into thin strips
- Heat oil on medium heat
- Add onion, cardamom, cinnamon and stir it until the onion has turned translucent.
- turn off the heat and add ground ginger and garlic. Stir it for a minute.
- Add rice and lentil along with water that was set aside before.
- Turn on high heat and stir the contents until all are mixed togather.
- Add Tumeric powder and stir.
- Wait until water starts to boil. Add salt and stir it.
- Lower the heat to low and cover the pot making sure that steam is kept inside.
- After 15 minutes check the rice and lentil if it is cooked and all water is evaporated.
- Turn off th heat and sprinkle melted ghee over the rice an cover it until ready to serve.
